Membership Badges
Badges that signify a member's
title or years associated within specific groups have long
been popular across the board and the ETU (Electrical Trades
Union) is no exception, having recently commissioned NICHOL
Industries to manufacture a range of items for its members.
The ETU had several thousand
badges produced with sector-specific designs for 10, 25, and
40 year membership, as well as another for shop stewards.
Alex McCallum, assistant secretary
of the ETU, reported that when they approached NICHOL, they
were quick to provide personal service by meeting and discussing
the unique designs of the multi-coloured, composite material
badges, prior to producing a sample and receiving a significant
order.
At the International Metalworkers
Federation convention, held during 2002 in Tokyo, one of the
Japanese delegates,
a tall gent by local standards
and also a basketball player, was most impressed with the
generous size and the quality of the NICHOL produced badge,
as compared to locally made, smaller badges, common within
Japan.
The ETU has been so impressed
with the service given by NICHOL that they have ordered several
large quantities which are manufactured in our Nunawading
factory.
